The Last of The Famous .... Ricardo Montalban


Actor Ricardo Montalbon was well-known for welcoming guests to Nirvana as Mr. Roarke on the late 1970s-early 1980s show Fantasy Island, but today it was he who said farewell. Montalbon passed away this morning in Los Angeles of old age.

In addition to his role on Fantasy Island, Montalbon enjoyed a splendid film career, battling Captain Kirk in Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan as Khan ("Khaaaaaaaaan!"), battling Frank Drebin in The Naked Gun, and doing whatever he did in Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams.

His acting career started in the early 1940s in Mexico, but he eventually joined Hollywood and put together an amazing list of credits, including Gunsmoke, Bonanza, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Mission Impossible, I Spy, and Hawaii Five-O Recently, he did voice work for Kim Possible and Family Guy.

Montalbon also championed the rights of Latinos, founding the Nosotros Foundation, which aimed to improve the opportunities for Latinos to find work in Hollywood.

Remenber I saw play the role of an electric heater in one TV show...
